Nissan Micra 2008 1.2 Season Silver
Evaluating the last generation Nissan Micra compact hatchback: what are its pros and cons, is it worth buying?
The civilized and progressive part of humanity, apparently, thought about practicality, economy and reasonable allocation of resources much earlier than it happened in our country. Only recently, with the thickening of political and actually military troubles, have we started talking about saving. Conversations are being conducted in all segments - from small things like energy-saving light bulbs to cars that can travel a maximum of kilometers on one liter of fuel, or even without fuel, using other types of energy. Many motorists are changing their attitude towards choosing a car, leaning towards a European approach - a car should be bought only for specific purposes and loads, nothing more. Thoughts “if I have to carry something big, I’ll take it and buy a minibus” are becoming a thing of the past. A smaller car is easier with parking, cheaper with refueling, easier with a car wash. Space may be as small as speed and dynamics, but this remains to be s Nissan Micra 2008 1.2 Season Silver orted out, and our first run subcompact for the test is a 2008 Nissan Micra.
Nissan Micra is always recognizable - its design is not in the least "sharpened" for Europe, pure Japanese techno-anime culture. True, all compacts have something in common - a rounded roof, expressive headlights, general "knock-down". But in the case of our little car, you will never doubt what kind of model it is - the Micra is very distinctive, and even a little peculiar.
Available engines 1.2, 1.4, 1.6 liters. (gasoline), as well as two diesel engines with a volume of 1.5 liters, but of different power. Transmissions: 5-speed manual or automatic, as in our test car. There is power steering, air conditioning / climate control, power accessories and a set of safety equipment. The car is equipped with good music, at least in terms of functionality and control (including from the steering wheel), but the system does not sound the best.
The first thought that comes to a person who has never operated compact cars is that the interior is cramped, like in a bank of promotional sprats. But there is no way - there is enough space in Mikra without any reservations, in the front seats for sure. The back row is already a convention, but nevertheless, visually, for three people it is no closer than in a golf-class car. In general, the capacity of the city compact should be enough for individual trips over short distances, rare trips with passengers, take the kids to school, drive them to the supermarket and deliver 2 bags of food from there. The Micra is up to the challenge.
The interior space is as interesting as the exterior of the car - everything here is large and round, expressive and pleasing to the eye, harmoniously connected.
The clever layout of the overall geometry of the cabin gives good visibility, a high seating position in the first row and good ergonomics of the controls. Paradoxically, the inside gives the impression of a really big car. If you sit in the front - not the slightest hint of infringement of space for any part of your body.
The feeling of a big car, unfortunately, disappears when the Micra starts to move. Light weight, small wheelbase, whatever one may say, give out the dimensions of the car. The suspension works smoothly only as long as there are no bumps. The "roughness" of the Ukrainian asphalt, not to mention the paving stones and rails, is difficult for her, to which the passengers receive a knock and bounce in response. We hear the engine only at high speeds, and that is rare, but with an increase in speed, road noise penetrates into the passenger compartment without hindrance.
Micra is very obedient and agile, its element is city traffic. Rebuildings, "millimeter squeezing", parking - everything is very convenient here. Especially parking and exiting the car - there is always room for opening the door and exiting without acrobatic tricks. The dynamics, despite the stated 15 seconds to 100 km / h, are quite enough. The automatic transmission works logically, without jerking, using the engine speed in the maximum torque range.
Everything would be great if not for the fuel consumption. They say, “a big ship has a big torpedo,” but we should have the opposite: a small car has a modest expense. In the city, in its native element, our little car burns, without even blinking its big headlamp eye, 8-9 liters per 100 km, which is clearly too much by the standards of t
